Feeling a little sluggish lately? Check your water intake. A general rule of thumb is to divide your weight in pounds in half and convert this number to ounces. For instances, a 160 lb person should be drinking 80 oz of water per day.
Some benefits to drinking more H2O: lose weight, have less joint pain, prevent headaches, be less cranky, perform better and increase your immunity. (This is generalized advice please visit with a health care provider to determine if you should drink more water.)

It's time to start thinking about getting in the garden and showing your yard some TLC. We have a few tips that may help with strain on your back. According to research from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and Coventry University, these are some things you can do to help prevent injury.⠀
1. Use a regular, repetitive technique rather than erratic movements.⠀
2. While digging, there should be minimal back bend but large knee bend.⠀
3. Avoid large forward bending, stretching limbs and uncontrolled motion.⠀
4. Keep the shovel as close to you as possible to have more control over it.⠀
5. Shovel less at a time to keep the movement more controlled.⠀

(From The Journal of Applied Physiology) The benefits of incorporating exercise into our lifestyle, as cited in the journal, are based on a 30 minute brisk walk and the research shows that the benefits of exercise are dose responsive meaning that the more you do the better.⠀

Dr. Anthony's advice is to schedule an activity for first thing in the morning. There are too many uncontrolled variables after the day begins. If you dread walking then would you be willing to just go outside for a few minutes and breath some fresh air to start your day? He suggests that you wear workout clothes when you go outside. Dr. Anthony also suggests getting your workout clothes together and setting them out before you go to bed the night before. Just developing the habit of getting up and getting exercise clothes on and going outside or to your exercise spot is HUGE! It is creating healthy habits.
